The event will be benefiting local food banks, Kare for Kids, and many other local groups.
In order to maintain a safe course, the course will officially close at 2:00 pm (7 hours after race start). Any participants still on the course will need to move to the sidewalks.
Awards for the 4 Miler will be given out at 8:45 am, 1/2 marathon at 10:00 am, and the Marathon at noon. All finishers will receive custom finisher medals. Special awards to overall man and woman, as well as the overall master's man & woman (40 yrs+) in all races. Awards will also be handed out to the top 3 in each 5 year age group starting at 19 & under (10 & under for the 4 Miler) and going through 65 years & older.
All participants registered by 6/1 are guaranteed a technical race shirt. Women can choose a women's cut. We'll also have custom bags full of some great goodies. We'll have plenty of extra's, but registrations after that will be while supplies last.
Water & Gatorade will be located just past the 2 mile mark, and approximately every 1 mile thereafter. The Aid station at Mile 6, 14, & 20 will have Cliff Shots. There will be several points along the course with port-a-potties & Cooling stations.
Arrive early...parking will be available at the Georgia racing hall of Fame first, then Dawson County Middle School, and other surrounding parking lots (the furthest being just under a 1 mile easy walk). All lots will have exit ability after the race starts.
All 3 courses follow the same route for the first 3 miles which loops through Dawsonville. The Marathon & 1/2 marathon then head North on GA-9 for an out and back that will be fairly fast (the marathon is a double loop). Please see the event website for a course map, elevation and video.
Not ready for the entire 26.2 or 13.1...this 4 mile (and a little bit) race that will follow the first 3 miles & the last 1 mile of the course. Open to all ages. Tech shirts, Finisher Awards, & Age groups awards.

We'll have music, cheering volunteers, and several points along the course to keep your spirits high, and keep your energy up.
We'll have some great prizes for our top winners, as well as some great door prizes. More info to come.
Grab your buddies, co-workers, or random strangers and challenge them to see who's the fastest. If you have at least 10 people, we're going to give a special award (and a prize) to the fastest person in the group. You'll also be able to save yourself a few dollars on registration.
All participants registered for the 5K or 10K will qualify for FREE entry into the Five Star Turkey Trot held on Thanksgiving Day. See race website for details.
All entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. Entries for the 2014 Bootlegger Marathon, 1/2 Marathon & 4 Miler, will not be deferred to the 2015 event. All participants must be able to maintain a 16:00 minute per mile pace. You must be 13 years of age on race day to participate in the Full or half marathon. Race registration will close once the maximum field is reached, regardless of the date. Registration over the phone, fax or email will NOT be accepted. All registrations must be done via online.
