Bootlegger Half Marathon & 4 MilerBrief DescriptionCome celebrate the beginning of summer in the South with a great themed race. This is the 2nd year, and we've got a new name, and we've worked out all the kinks. Both events will start and finish at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame. Participants will have the opportunity to tour the museum before and after the race. This inaugural event is expected to sell out early, so don't put off registration. Pacing, Finishing, & TimingIn order to maintain a safe course, the course will officially close at 10:30 am (3 1/2 hours after race start). Any participants still on the course will need to move to the sidewalks AwardsAwards for the 4 Miler will be given out at 8:45 am, and the 1/2 marathon at 9:30 am. All finishers of the Half & 4 miler will receive custom finisher medals. Special awards to overall man and woman, as well as the overall master's man & woman (40 yrs+). Awards will also be handed out to the top 3 in each 5 year age group starting at 19 & under (10 & under for the 4 Miler) and going through 65 years & older. Shirts & GoodiesAll participants registered by 6/2 are guaranteed a race specific moisture wicking shirt. We'll also have custom bags full of some great goodies. We'll have plenty of extra's, but registrations after that will be while supplies last. Water, Aid, & PottiesWater & Gatorade will be located just past the 2 mile mark, and approximately every 1.5 miles thereafter. The Aid station at Mile 6 will have Cliff Shots. Miler. They are doing this for Free the day before our race here. We
would like to send them a race shirt. Please help us do this by
purchasing a shirt for a SPARTAN! ParkingArrive early...parking will be available at the Georgia racing hall of Fame first, then Dawson County Middle School, and other surrounding parking lots (the furthest being just under a 1 mile easy walk). Not ready for the entire 13.1...this 4 mile (and a little bit) race that will follow the first 3 miles & the last 1 mile of the half marathon course. Open to all ages. Tech shirts, Finisher Awards, & Age groups awards.
Downloadable registration forms are available through the race website. Entry fees for the half marathon are $40 through 2/14, $50 through 4/30, $60 through 6/1, and $70 through race day. Entry for the 4 miler is $25 through 2/14 & $30 afterwards.
We'll have music, cheering volunteers, and several points along the course to keep your spirits high, and keep your energy up.
We'll have some great prizes for our top winners, as well as some great door prizes. More info to come.
Grab your buddies, co-workers, or random strangers and challenge them to see who's the fastest. If you have at least 10 people, we're going to give a special award (and a prize) to the fastest person in the group. More details to come.
All participants registered for the 5K or 10K will qualify for FREE entry into the Five Star Turkey Trot held on Thanksgiving Day. See race website for details.

All entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. Entries for the 2013 Bootlegger 1/2 Marathon & 4 Miler, will not be deferred to the 2014 event. All 1/2 marathon participants must be able to maintain a 16:00 minute per mile pace. You must be 13 years of age on race day to participate in the half marathon. Race registration will close once the maximum field is reached, regardless of the date. Registration over the phone, fax or email will NOT be accepted. All registrations must be done via online or mail in.
