Chilly Willy 5K/10K & Half Marathon - Las Vegas is proud to support Ava's Avengers.

Ava's Avengers seeks to stand as a symbol of hope to individuals of all ages living in need. By raising awareness through public and charitable events, Ava's Avengers seeks to decrease the socioeconomic burdens placed on families by building support networks dedicated to furthering disease education, raising hope, and increasing human resilience by reminding everyone of the hero within themselves.

Join Ava’s Avengers to help find your inner hero! Ava’s Avengers was formed to allow people from all over the world to step up to the plate and make a positive impact. Through virtual races or joining one of our teams in person at a live event, you can directly impact lives and help build a better future.

Ava’s Avengers began in 2013, as a showing of support for Ava Wright, a 4-year-old girl preparing for brain surgery to alleviate symptoms of Chiari Malformation, a condition that still has no cure.

While in Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, Ava focused more on other children’s recovery and wellbeing than her own. During her recovery, families across the country began contacting Ava’s family to help guide them through their own children’s battle with Chiari Malformation. As part of her recovery, Ava’s father introduced her to endurance sports, to help her prepare for her lifelong battle with Chiari. When Ava began racing, more and more families contacted Ava’s parents, seeking understanding of their own child’s condition, or to express inspiration found in Ava’s indomitable spirit.

It was then that Ava’s parents realized that the famous Spider-Man mantra, “With great power comes great responsibility” needed to be their guide; and that Ava’s Avengers should serve as a symbol of hope and support for any, and all families with children struggling with various serious medical conditions. As time went on, Ava’s Avengers evolved from helping individual families to becoming a national 501c3 charitable organization, helping more and more families across the country.

While supporting these families is always Ava’s Avengers primary goal, the organization constantly seeks to serve as an inspiration, and guide for individuals from coast to coast to find their inner hero; and join the fight. Now, over 100 Avengers, Agents, and Cadets spread living in over a dozen states strive to inspire others across the country to step up to make a positive impact in their own communities, and to help families and individuals battling through their darkest hours.
